The Kittanning Post Office
Why hasn’t this federal building been modified to allow better access?
We all as residents of Armstrong County should be outraged that the Post office located in the County seat of Armstrong Country is inaccessible to persons with disabilities, veterans and the uncalled for burden and dangers it brings to the elderly citizens of this community who struggle to climb the steps as I do myself. This problem was brought up at the first Disability meeting that was held on April 13th 2007 at the Area on Aging on Water Street.
We were provided with letters seeking help about this accessibility problem to legislators and postal authorities from citizens of Armstrong County dated over 10 years prior to DIG taking on the task of making it a priority. We would like to hear from you if you agree or disagree with our tactics or cause please join us and let us know, we meet 1:00 pm the second Monday of every month at the Area for aging in Kittanning If the small business owner must comply why not the post office.
